Temperament Certified ProfessionalFiona has been using temperament theory successfully to manage communications in her work and personal life since the early 1990's. After completing her Masters in Applied Communications at Royal Roads University in 2005, she continued her learning and added the Keirsey Temperament Certification. Individual temperament assessments combined with the Team-Building with Temperament Workshop provides a powerful framework for organizations to build high-performance teams. Fiona answers the question: Why Keirsey Temperament Theory? In 1993 (yes, I have to go back a bit), I worked with six people at the Information Technology & Management Library for the BC Government. Our manager was working on a major corporate initiative outside of the Library and decided we could operate well as a self-managed work-team if we had some team-building workshops and tools. Building self-managed work-teams was the hot topic of the times and the Myers-Briggs Type We posted a grid-chart of the sixteen types on the door of our office, and wrote our names in the We found an online personality profiling tool at www.keirsey.com; when new staff joined us, they did the test and added their names to the chart on the door. Through the Keirsey website and numerous books, we continued to learn about our temperament types and to use that knowledge to improve our work and personal lives. Over the years, I have used the Keirsey Temperament Sorter on an informal basis with friends, family, fellow learners and coworkers. The temperament results provide a useful framework for so many things in both work and personal life – from managing projects to choosing vacation activities. I am pleased to share this knowledge with you. Please feel free to contact me for more information on how you can use temperament theory to improve your communications in the all areas of your life. |
